Bigfoot Bedtime Stories

For some reason we all started watching Bigfoot documentaries and docuseries a few years ago. And since then its been a fun little thing between Joe and I. When we go out hiking or hit the local MCT trails we look for Bigfoot structures, cattails, listen for sounds like tree knocks.... all that stuff they talk about. And even though I don't think I really believe he's actually out there, I love reading the stories, watching the shows, learning about the research. And honestly, I do hope he is out there.... but I just really hope that no one ever finds him. I love the curiosity. The wonder. The search. The question. It's just fun!! He doesn't need to be found. It would ruin all the novelty and excitement.

I stumbled upon the Bigfoot Field Research Organization website at some point. Once I started really pushing my little marketing Bigfoot, I started looking through the website almost every morning. Instead of my morning coffee and the newspaper, it was my morning coffee from Wachita Mountain Coffee and the BFRO website.

I've shared the reports so much with the family that now any night when Joe can't sleep, he asks me to read him Bigfoot stories. Typically I ask him to give me a state and a letter. I look up the state and then look through the list for a county that starts with that letter. We chat about the report dates and the classes and choose one or two to read.

Last night we decided to stay local. Which I have never done oddly enough. I don't think I even got through the first report before he crashed. But I got lost in the top three reports for Madison County, Illinois. Joe and I both like to look at the map on my phone and see where the sightings actually were. Its a good learning experience in that it helps him to learn his surroundings, the states, how to read maps, see where the big guys been seen, how to locate and compare to where he is…..

…. and just let that little brain work and be curious and be weird.

May we all stay curious and weird!!!
