In the midst of the tables and the bar tops and the headboards, for whatever reason, I decided to make beer flight paddles. I cannot remember for the life of me why I thought it would be cool, but I sure did enjoy it. Still do! I first started making the holes with a forstner bit and a drill which became a huge pain. I couldn’t get the holes even or level and the glasses sat funny and I was just frustrated. And ugh!!!!!
(look at the grain in that cedar though.... I can just smell the hamsters.)

For our two year anniversary Nick got me my first real tool. The drill press. I still remember the FB post on that day talking about what most girls want… diamonds, flowers, I don’t know, other girl stuff.
But I got a drill press!!!!!!

Please note that if you’ve followed me recently, I got a Festool orbital sander for Valentine’s Day this year! (And some roses and chocolates. But whatever.)
I cried over that sander.
The drill press made my life so much easier!! I was whipping out flight paddles and wood burning designs on them. Especially trees because I love drawing trees. Makes all the sense, right?!? I love trees. And cedar!! I love finding weird, funky cedar. Plus, again....hamsters.

Anyway, I had so much fun making flight paddles and I even got to make some custom ones. After the logo was designed, I had a branding iron made. We even had one person come back to have me burn the logo on it after the iron arrived. Way before the lasers came into play.
I had so much fun. I loved everything about the paddles. I made them for gifts, I made custom paddles for clients, I made them to sell. It was just sooooo fun!

But soon all that was going to come to an end.
