As I mentioned in Part 2, it started out as Live Edge Grains Woodworking. Oh, yeah, and I checked... it was May of 2017 that I created the FB page.

By November that year I knew we had to change it. And I wanted it to be something unique. Just like the grains in wood.

So like any normal human being person does, I got out the thesaurus. Well, the dictionary ap on my phone anyway. I knew it had to be something to combine wood and metal. But how?

I searched words and I jotted ideas down. Now thinking back, I honestly don't remember anything that it could have been. I don't remember any of my other thoughts or anything we had discussed. I just remember the moment when I knew I found it.

I had been working on a landscape project in our hometown. We were building natural stone steps and walls and patios. Ironically enough, one of the neighbors had just chopped down a dying walnut and there was a pile of firewood on the side of the road under a huge canopy of trees. I knocked on his door and asked if I could take a couple logs home with me. I never knew if one day I could work with them. But it was walnut! I had to. He allowed it.

Next day I pulled up to the job site and as I sat there staring forward thinking of all the words I had found, I checked one more time. Somehow that morning, sorting through that thesaurus, I found the word "Silva".

By definition, it stopped me from all other thoughts.... Silva. SILVA! A forest of trees in a region or country. Trees in a certain location, right? My love of sourcing local spoke out in this one word. There it was, right in front of my face!

And then the addition of Ore, well that was just a given. It worked. It made sense.

It sounded GOOD.

And it was good.

And the rest is history. But not really.
